On the west bank of the Rhône, the Côte-Rôtie vineyard clings to vertiginous slopes sculpted by human hands for over two millennia. At altitudes ranging from 180 to 325 meters, these spectacular inclines, some reaching up to 60% gradient, offer a striking panorama over the Rhône Valley.

The metamorphic terroir of Côte-Rôtie imparts finesse, complexity, and distinctive elegance to the wine. The steep slopes and abundant sunlight encourage optimal ripening while preserving the fruit’s freshness.

Shaped by winter drought, the 2023 vintage benefited from a milder spring, which allowed the vines to better withstand the intense summer heat. Despite limited yields, the harvest, beginning in late August, resulted in healthy, high-quality grapes, promising balanced and expressive wines.

winemaking and ageing

The harvest, carried out entirely by hand, is carefully placed in palox bins before being transferred to a cold room, in order to preserve the fruit’s freshness and integrity.
After destemming, the berries are moved by gravity into truncated stainless steel vats, with the utmost respect for the raw material.

Aged for 18 months in oak barrels, 20% of which are new, the wine gains complexity and depth without masking the purity of the fruit. 3 months before bottling, it is blended in stainless steel tanks, in pursuit of harmony and balance.
