terroir of Saint-Esprit
The most emblematic soils of the Côtes-du-Rhône appellation are composed of rolled pebbles over sand, marl, and clay, particularly suited to growing Grenache. Syrah and Mourvèdre thrive on lighter soils, notably the loess-rich terroirs of the Cévennes foothills, where they develop elegance, freshness and aromatic complexity. In the cuvée Saint-Esprit, Syrah sourced from the east bank of the Rhône brings freshness and structure. The Grenache grapes are drawn from two complementary terroirs: some come from the Arc des Dentelles, where the pebblestrewn soils lend generosity and breadth, and others from the cooler, higher-lying vineyards near Valréas, which bring tension, balance and elegance to the blend.

vintage
Rainfall between April and June was significantly higher than the average of the past ten years. This led to high disease pressure from fungal pathogens, resulting in substantial losses across a large part of the vineyard. Fortunately, the summer conditions that followed (July–August) helped preserve the grapes in good sanitary condition through to harvest.
Harvesting was therefore carried out according to a relatively late and particularly extended schedule, from September 10 to 29. Following rigorous sorting, yields settled at around 20 hl/ha.
winemaking and ageing
The harvest, fully destemmed, allows each grape variety to fully express its character in a style true to the Maison’s tradition.
Extraction is carried out with care through daily pump-overs, under strict temperature control, in order to preserve the balance between fruit, structure, and freshness.
Ageing is conducted mainly in stainless steel tanks to maintain aromatic brilliance and purity of fruit. The more structured lots benefit from ageing in oak, bringing finesse, complexity, and depth to the blend. The minimum ageing period is 12 months, ensuring perfect harmony before bottling.
