terroir of les Launes
The Les Launes cuvée draws its character from some of the finest vineyard sites in Crozes-Hermitage, where Syrah thrives on terraces of rounded pebbles, remnants of the last glacial period, intermingled with deep, fertile clay soils. These generous soils, endowed with excellent water-retention capacity and combined with a mild climate, provide ideal conditions for producing a Syrah that is expressive, generous and beautifully balanced.

Rainfall between April and June was significantly higher than the average of the past ten years. This led to high disease pressure from fungal pathogens, resulting in substantial losses across a large part of the vineyard. Fortunately, the summer conditions that followed (July–August) helped preserve the grapes in good sanitary condition through to harvest.
Harvesting was therefore carried out according to a relatively late and particularly extended schedule, from September 10 to 29. Following rigorous sorting, yields settled at around 20 hl/ha.
winemaking and ageing
The grapes are harvested at perfect maturity, then fully destemmed to preserve the purity of the fruit. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, allowing for gentle and well-managed extraction.
After draining off and pressing, malolactic fermentation is carried out in tank to bring roundness and balance. Depending on the profile of the vintage, a portion may be aged in oak barrels to refine structure and enhance the wine’s aromatic complexity.
wine profile
The color is deep.
The nose reveals generous, appealing fruit. The tannic structure, both crisp and well-built, brings depth and length.
The overall impression is lively and well balanced, combining immediate fruit with an elegant persistence marked by classic Syrah notes such as violet and licorice.
