The single-vineyard wine Le Clos is the interpretation of this unique place. Le Clos offers a deep, straight and radiant expression of the Syrah grape. Its structure is dense but never massive. Ageing, partly in new barrels, brings contrast and structure while preserving the wine’s natural finesse. This is a Syrah that favours energy over flamboyance, and ageing potential over immediate brilliance.

Terroir of the Clos

The Clos Saint- George is a place apart. This historic property was built in 1857 and was producing wine even before the creation of the Crozes-Hermitage appellation in 1937. Enclosed within its walls, the Clos shelters a landscaped park, fruit trees, and 2.5 hectares of planted vines. The terroir lies on deep alluvial terraces, rich in rounded pebbles and clay, which give the wines a dense structure and freshness.
