Clos Boucher

White

Clos Boucher deliberately distances itself from the sometimes exuberant varietal expression of Viognier. This single-vineyard wine offers a unique, elegant interpretation of Condrieu: full-bodied yet lovely and light, generous without exuberance. With its precise aromatics, it offers a well-honed interpretation of the Viognier grape, in which white flowers, white pepper, warm stone and yellow fruit interplay in an understated and refined character.

Terroir of Clos Boucher

Clos Boucher is a parcel that has always belonged to the Delas family, on which we have developed a unique style: precise, taut, and free of excess. The vineyard covers 2.5 hectares, divided among three exposures and three complementary geological formations: to the south, a massive, undecomposed granite; to the east, schist mixed with deep loess; and at the bottom of the slope, clay that softens the wine’s texture. This diversity of soils generates a rare complexity in the wine, defined by a constant tension between finesse, depth, and verticality.

Breaking free from the expected apricot notes, it asserts a deeper, more nuanced palette of sweet spices. The granite imparts its distinctive minerality, while the winemaking brings a refined elegance that makes it a true gastronomic wine. Its freshness and its ageing in wood give it a confidently age‑worthy character, crafted to allow it to stand the test of time with nobility.
