Terroir of Les Challeys
Nestled on the west bank of the Rhône, at the latitude of the 45th parallel, the vineyards of Saint Joseph stretch along the steep hillsides of the Massif Central. Clinging to narrow terraces carved into rock, the vines take root on abrupt slopes facing south and southeast, bathed in sunlight.

Rainfall between April and June was significantly higher than the average of the past ten years. This led to high disease pressure from fungal pathogens, resulting in substantial losses across a large part of the vineyard. Fortunately, the summer conditions that followed (July–August) helped preserve the grapes in good sanitary condition through to harvest.
Harvesting was therefore carried out according to a relatively late and particularly extended schedule, from September 10 to 29. Following rigorous sorting, yields settled at around 20 hl/ha.
winemaking and ageing
The grapes, left whole, are pressed gently, with careful separation of the free-run and press juices. The must then rests overnight. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks to preserve aromatic purity. A small portion of the cuvée is vinified in barrel to add a touch of complexity.
Depending on the characteristics of the vintage, a variable proportion of the wine is then aged in barrels to refine the texture and enrich the aromatic palette.
wine profile
This cuvée displays a brilliant golden hue with shimmering highlights, complemented by an expressive bouquet combining white flowers, fresh citrus fruits, and delicate woody notes.
On the palate, it is vibrant and well-structured, driven by remarkable freshness. The subtle oak ageing adds a touch of roundness and complexity.
The finish is elegant and long-lasting, distinguished by its pronounced minerality.

“A plump, juicy white, with good tension and drive to its notes of star fruit and green herbs. Shows a hint of buttercream on the glossy, medium-bodied palate. Talc-fine mineral and spicy radish elements keep the finish bright and bouncy. Marsanne and Roussanne. Drink now through 2028.”

“The interplay of the honeycomb, Mirabelle-plum and apricot aromas, the creamy texture and the stony minerality is delightful. Medium -to-full-bodied with a succulence that extends through the lonag, silky finish. A cuvee of more than two thirds marsanne and one third roussanne. Drink from release.”
