terroir of Haute Pierre

The Châteauneuf-du-Pape vineyard is a mosaic of exceptionally rich soils. From the emblematic rounded pebbles to fine sands, red clays, and molassic sandstone, each parcel expresses a unique facet of the terroir. These pebbles, true solar collectors, store heat during the day and release it at night, promoting optimal grape ripening. The Mediterranean climate, shaped by generous sunlight and the steady breath of Le Mistral, provides the vines with freshness, protection, and balance. It is a bright and contrasting terroir where the power of nature interacts with the finesse of human craftsmanship.

vintages

vintage

This 2023 vintage will be remembered for its sunshine and intense summer heat.
Grenache, the emblematic grape variety of the appellation, adapts particularly well to these conditions. Early harvesting allowed grapes to be picked at perfect phenolic maturity while maintaining a controlled alcohol level.

winemaking and ageing

Vinification is carried out using traditional methods in concrete vats, allowing for precise control of extraction while preserving the purity and finest expression of the fruit.

Ageing takes place in both concrete vats and oak barrels. It aims to enhance the wine’s balance, complexity, and depth, while fully respecting the identity of the terroir.

wine profile

The colour is deep with ruby nuances.

The nose reveals a delicately oaked maturation that enhances fruity notes of black cherry and blackberry.

The palate is silky and long. The well‑present tannins suggest excellent ageing potential for more than a decade.
