In the north of the 45th parallel, single-varietal viticulture comes naturally for the Rhône region winemakers: it faithfully reflects the identity of the terroir. This remarkable geographic location defines the ideal climatic frontier for the Syrah grape, whose unique identity we strive to express year after year. With our privileged access to the Northern Rhône’s great appellations, we craft an exceptional range of Syrah expressions grown on granite. Our commitment is to reveal the true character of the fruit while remaining faithful to its origin.

 

A WINEGROWER’S APPROACH TO HILLSIDES AND GRANITE

Across our vineyard, the vines thrive each year on complex yet
incomparably rich granite soils. This naturally acidic and draining substrate has a real affinity for the Syrah grape. By restraining the vigour of the vine and encouraging low yields, the expression of the fruit is concentrated, and the aromatic spectrum is intensified. On these precipitous hillsides, the steep slopes require constant care and attention. Along the terraces dug out of the rock by generations of winegrowers, the soil is still tilled by hand, patiently and meticulously.

CULTIVATING SINGULARITIES

In the iconic terroirs of the Rhône Valley, our vineyard is culivated with meticulous care and precision. Each plot is managed individually, taking into account the age, exposure and specific needs of its vines. Ripening is carefully monitored, plot by plot, to allow each vine to produce the finest fruit of its terroir. Harvesting is carried out slowly and patiently, terrace by terrace, guided by the firm belief that there is no excellence without patient work.

AN APPROACH TO WINEMAKING BASED ON PRECISION AND OBSERVATION

Our new winery is a showcase of cutting-edge technology designed to enable a winemaking approach closely attuned to the terroir. The facilities are entirely dedicated to obtaining the purest expression of each vineyard plot. In this constant quest for balance and expression, we prefer to use gentle vinification methods: slow fermentation, precise temperature control, minimal racking and an ageing process tailored to each wine.
